Can I fix a cracked LCD TV screen? I understand the temptation. Those TVs are expensive. I remember people fixing the old cathode ray TVs we had. Yeah, but that glass screen was in front of the projector, so to speak. You could check with the warranty. I didn't know TVs had a warranty. If it cracked within a few days or weeks of purchase due to the heat of the electronics, you could get it fixed at their expense. Or a replacement if it cracked so soon after starting use that you can say it is a manufacturing defect. It is more likely a remote control defect. I mean accident. No warranty is going to cover an accident with a remote control or defective use thereof. This isn't a new TV. So I don't think there's a warranty in place, anyways. There are not many people who can repair LCD TVs. Though you can certainly hire them to wire in the DVD player, DVR player, home stereo system, satellite dish, gaming system and other toys. And given everything the TV is used for, I want to get it fixed. Replacement screens are expensive. In fact, it can cost as much as a new LCD TV. And newer LCD TVs supposedly use less electricity. Only if the new TV isn't bigger than the old one. It sounds like I'd be better off getting a new LCD TV. You could save money buying someone's second hand LCD TV when they upgrade to a newer, bigger one. Then you need to invest in anger management. What is that for? So you don't break the new TV via remote control or loss of emotional control accidents. Or I could install that shatter-proof film they put on windows to prevent bullets from breaking glass. That prevents glass from spraying everywhere. It won't prevent another screen from cracking under impact. So I need to get a TV cabinet with big doors to protect it.
